Rep. Luis Gutierrez, a Puerto Rican congressman from Chicago, has made it known that he will introduce legislation tomorrow that proposes to reform the immigration system of the U.S. He called it “a progressive, compassionate and comprehensive immigration reform bill” in an opinion piece he wrote for The Huffington Post.
Gutierrez, a Democrat, has been at the forefront of advocacy efforts through the first year of the Barack Obama presidency, calling on the administration to stand by the principles of comprehensive immigration reform that helped Obama win the votes of millions of Latinos in the last presidential election.
